The development trend of beverage packaging machinery in the next three years

Industry experts from consumer packaging companies (CPGs) and contract packaging companies predict that the beverage packaging equipment industry will experience significant growth in the next three years. According to the "Beverage Industry Packaging Trends" report released by PMMI Business Intelligence, many beverage companies expect a slight to significant increase in mechanical equipment investment over the next three years. This trend is mainly driven by company expansion plans, new SKU/product launches, and increasing consumer demand.

This report is a collaboration between PMMI Business Intelligence and Advantage Research, aimed at providing in-depth insights into beverage packaging trends for PMMI member companies and the broader industry, which will have a significant impact on the packaging and processing industry. The research data is based on quantitative online surveys conducted from November 21, 2024 to January 21, 2025, as well as 15 in-depth interviews with CPG companies and contract packaging suppliers in the beverage industry, covering the period from December 2024 to January 2025.

In the survey, the intelligence team asked industry professionals about their expectations for the company's investment in beverage packaging machinery and equipment over the next three years. The results showed that 68% of respondents expected investment to achieve moderate to significant growth (choosing "5" or higher on a seven point scale). More than half of the respondents believe that their company's investment in beverage packaging machinery and equipment will show moderate to significant growth.

When asked about the reasons for investment growth, professionals provided clear insights. Although all reasons are significant, four of them are particularly prominent: company expansion, increased consumer demand, technological advancements, and the launch of new SKUs/products.
